Lot was born on 10 Feb 1831 in Westmoreland Co., PA. He was a widower. His father was James Wilson, born in Westmoreland Co., PA. His mother was Mary Baum, born in Westmoreland Co., PA. Lot was a farmer. The informant was his daughter, Mrs. Shoaf, of Prospect, PA. Lot was buried in Luthern [sic] Cemetery, 16 Apr 1906. |  |

- Mariah Wilson's dates are calculated as follows: On the census date of 8 June 1870, Mariah was said to be 9 mos. old. A birth date as early as Aug. 8 1869 would have made her 10 months old, Sept 8 1869 would be exactly 9 months, and Oct. 8 1869 would make her 8 months old. If her age were between 8.5 & 9.5 months at the census, then the best guess at birth date would be between Sept 8 plus or minus 15 days, i.e., between Aug. 23 and Sept. 23, 1869.
Her death date & age (Aug., 1877 (day illegible), age 9 yrs. 11 mo, 7 da.) suggests a birth 7 days short of some date in Sept, 1868, so between Aug. 25 & Sept. 23, 1868. There is no explanation for the one year inconsistency in these dates, 1868-1869. We expect the 1869 date, based on the 1870 census, to be accurate. (Jan Finke puts Maria's death date as 8 May 1879 and birth date as 19 June 1869, source unknown).
