John Reinhard Kenemuth was a farmer and oil producer. He married Mary Fox, a daughter of John Fox of Brady's Bend. John Fox was born in Germany,as was John R. Kenemuth. Mary Fox however was born in PA in 1845. Mary and John R. resided in Ashland Twp., Clarion Co. PA, neighbors of the John Frederick family.

- Frankershausen, Germany is today in County Eschwege, Hesse. It lies SE of Kassel about 15 miles
- The calling card for Edward G Kenemuth, from the Calling Card Book of Elizabeth Anna Frederick suggests that Edward, son of John Reinhard Kenemuth, may have a middle initial "G". John Reinhard Kenemuth's brother, Conrad Kenemuth had a son named Edward E. Kenemuth. No additional Edwards are currently known from this era.
Similarly, the card for Wm. H. Kenemuth may belong to Willie, son of John Reinhard Kenemuth. No other William Kenemuth is known for this era.
