This manuscript forwarded to us by correspondence of Judy King "Jacob Kuehnemuth was born the 20th of October, 1796. His father's name was John. His mother's name was Anna Elizabeth, maiden name Schinderwolf. In the year 1824 he married Dorothy Elizabeth Schinderwolf this being on the 30th of September. To them were born 8 children namely 5 sons and 3 daughters, of which two sons and one daughter died in earliest infancy - died in (illegible, but states town and country). They left the place of their birth on the 25th of April of the year 1852 and lived four years , one month and 18 days in (illegible) about a half-hour from (illegible). They left their fatherland in 1856. Two of their children went to this, their new fatherland four years before, namely the oldest daughter, Anna Catherine who was born the 27th of February 1827 and married to (illegible), and the oldest son, Conrad , born 21st of May 1837. In addition there came with us into the new fatherland the following children: Anna Elizabeth born the 31st of March, 1832; Jacob Frederick born the 27th of January, 1840; and John Reinhard born the 1st of May, 1843. We went aboard ship the 6th of May and landed on the 25th of June at Baltimore. On the 28th of this month we took the train and arrived July 2nd at Etna. We moved again from there and arrived in Clarion and ---moved to our new home in 1857 (month illegible)." There follows a prayer, signed Jacob Kuehnemuth, and "I bought this Bible of John Clauss Huzfeld at (illegible) the 22nd of April, 1838. It cost one silver dollar." | |

Source notes
- Frankershausen, Germany is today in County Eschwege, Hesse. It lies SE of Kassel about 15 miles
- Calling cards: Jennie M. and Jennie R Kennemuth are mother & daughter
- Source 8: Gravestones at Knox Cemetery:we suspect that "Daughter Freda K?R Bell 1889-1971" in Kenemuth plot is the mother of " Father Edward A. Bell 1910-1991" in the adjacent Bell plot; Bell and Kenemuth surnames carved on opposite sides of same large headstone, Knox Cemetery, Clarion Co. PA. See photos and transcriptions.
- No Conrad Kennemuth could be found in a page-by-page search of the Ashland Twp. census for 1930.
