1 1830 United States Federal Census, Mecklenburg Co., NC, Nat. Archives Roll 122 Pg 338; Ancestry.com pg. 53.
Geo. W. King age 30-40; 1 male age 20-30; 2 females under age 5; 1 female age 30-40. This indicates that one daughter did not survive to the time of his will, 1847. The male age 20-30 is possibly George's brother Arguile, since Arguile does not seem to appear in the 1830 census, whereas his brother Colin C. King does.

King as guardian of "my two youngest sons" (ie. they are minors). Balance of property divided among "my three children". Executors Collin C. King & Stephen Wilson. Witnesses John W. Neel & Cynthia A. Source notes

  • John W. Readling appears in the 1850 census in Cabarrus County, NC living with his parents. This suggests that Margaret married again after I. Drake Groff died. John W. Readling then died before 1970, leaving Margaret a widow for a second time. Jacob Groff appears in the 1880 census for Wayne County NC living with a wife and two sets of children but no mother.
