2	1800 United States Federal Census, Mecklenburg Co, NC Salisbury District pg 13 lists family of Valentine Hepp: 2 males <10, 1 males 10-16, 1 male 26-45, 2 females <10, 1 female 10-16, and 1 female 26-44. These are no Hipp families listed in Ancestry.com's index of the census records for North Carolina. There are two other Hepp's (Jacob and Mathias) in Burke County.
3	1810 United States Federal Census, Mecklenburg Co, NC Capt McKinly District pg 4 lists Valentine Hipp: 2 males <10, 2 males 16-25, 1 male >45, 2 females 10-16, 1 female >45 and Andrew Hipp: 1 male 16-25 and 1 female 16-25. Page 2 lists the families of David Hipp: 1 male 26-44, 1 female <10, 1 female 16-25; John Hipp: 1 male 16-25, 1 male 26-44, 4 females <10, 1 female 26-44; and Jacob Hipp: 1 male <10, 1 male 16-25, 1 female <10 , 1 female 16-25. A Jacob Hipp and a John Hipp are in the 1820 census for Buncombe Co, NC (pgs 2 and 3). These are the only Hipp families listed in Ancestry.com's index of these two census records for North Carolina.
4	1820 United States Federal Census, Mecklenburg Co, NC pg 3 lists the following Hipp families, all living adjacent to each other: Valentine Hipp: 2 males 10-16, 1 male over 45 2 females 16-15, 1 female over 45 Anda(Andrew?): 3 males under 10, 1 male 26-44, 2 females under 10, 1 female 26-44. John Jr.: 1 male 26-44, 1 female under 10, 1 female 26-44. John Sr.: 2 males under 10, 1 male 26-44, 2 females under 10, 4 females 26-44. These appear to be the only Hipp families in the county. Polly Hipp married George W. King in 1821. Several of the women are in the age groups appropriate for Polly Hipp.
5	1830 United States Federal Census, Mecklenburg Co., NC, Nat. Archives Roll 122 Pg 338; Ancestry.com pg. 53. Geo. W. King age 30-40; 1 male age 20-30; 2 females under age 5; 1 female age 30-40. This indicates that one daughter did not survive to the time of his will, 1847. The male age 20-30 is possibly George's brother Arguile, since Arguile does not seem to appear in the 1830 census, whereas his brother Colin C. King does.

"This afternoon we took some family history over to Herietta and during converstion she was telling about her father, Alphonso W. King. He had told her that her great-grandfather was George Washington. Being proud of it she told her school friends and at home one day she also told a visiting friend that her great-grandfather was George Washington. Alfonso King heard part of the conversation and corrected her as meaning her great-grandfather was George Washington King."
