[edit] NOT A DIRECT ANCESTOR

Effie Arletta King was the wife of Harrison Chester Beals ("Harry" Beals); and daughter of Charles W. King & Amanda McMurdy
Harrison Chester Beals is not in my direct ancestry. He is 3 steps removed in the following ways:

Harry and Effie King Beals lived on a farm across the road from the north end of the Emlenton airport, very near the farm of Elgie and Winnie Kline Beals. Effie and Winnie were good friends, and would join in quilting bees at each other's homes. Their husbands were second cousins. The knowledge of the relationship was lost by the next generation. Ella Beals Wilson, daughter of Winnie and Elgie Beals, said when interviewed about family history, that Dr. Norman Beals (son of Effie and Chester Beals) was not related to her family, but was from "a different Beals family". Before Ella died, the relationship was rediscovered.
Just to the south and across the road from the Elgie & Winnie Beals farm, was that of Etta King, who was a bit older than they were. An old windmill stood in her yard. Winnie would send her grandchildren down the road to deliver a food gift to Etta occasionally. She was likely Etta Luella King (1867-1958), daughter of Samuel King, and youngest sister of Charles William King (see source 11 website below). Etta would then have been Effie's maiden aunt.
