R1 1850 United States Federal Census, (township not listed), Cherokee Co., NC, page 109, lines 32-42, and page 110, lines 1-9 list several King families living adjacaent to one another. RELATIONSHIP NOT ESTABLISHED. Name similarities are of interest; location is unexpected.

In the fist house there is a John King, 49, married to an Elizabeth King, 47. They live with seven children: son James M. King, 27; son Degall[?] P. King, 20; son Daniel G.[?] King, 18; daughter Lucinda King,14; daughter Hannah E. King, 12; son Andrew M. King, 9; and daughter [unknown] M. King, 6. John, James, Degall, and Daniel are farmers. Everyone was born in NC.

The next house on the list belongs to George W. King, 26, an his wife Mary A. King, 23. They live with two children: son John V.[?] King, 3, and son Zacariah T.[?] King, age 3 months. George is a farmer. They were all born in NC.

The next house on the list belongs to William King, 28, and his wife Elizabeth King, 26. They live with five children: son George W. King, 7; son John F. King, 5; son James W. King, 4; daughter Susan L. King, 2; and daughter Martha P. King, age one month. William is a farmer. Everyone was born in NC except for Elizabeth, who was born in TN. Elizabeth is illiterate. George and John attended school within the census year.

This census is dated 1 Jun 1850.
