Hiram Milhausen

Hiram Milhausen was the son of David Milhausen and Susan unknown. The name was Anglicized to Millison. Hiram Milhausen married Martha Jane Wilson,and had at least one child. His wife died at age 31 and is buried in Prospect, at Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery, so they probably lived in Franklin Twp., Butler Co. after marriage. Hiram's life after that point has not been traced and his burial site is unknown.

- Per the gravestone inscription: Martha would be aged 52 yr. in 1887; while the inscription is unclear, we believe the unreadable portion, after the death date, is intended to be "in the 52nd year of her life". Only a portion of this is legible, but the "5" was transcribed. If the transcription is in error, if the "5" should be a "3", (i.e. age 32) then the date of 1867 transcribed by the Butler Co. Cemetery Inventory would be more likely correct. An early death in 1867 would account for having only one child, born in 1856.)
- The name Millhausen is also seen as changed to Millison, Millson, Millron.
- Neither Martha nor Hiram appears in the 1870 or 1880 Ancerstry.com registry search, under any of the name variations. Searching Muddy Creek Twp for Hiram or Martha gave no likely variants although there is a MArtha Gallagher with the right age and a daughter Mary in the 1870 census.
