The younger male and female do not fit for the children, all born after 1800) John Klein: 1 male and 1 female >45. This fits for Johannes Peter Klein and his wife. Jacob Klein: 4 males <10, 1 male 16-25, 1 male 26-44, 1 female <10, 1 female 26-44. This fits the list of children for Johan Jacob Klein. There is an extra male 16-25, and the age for Elizabetha Vogele is off by a year. Henry Klein: 1 male 16-26, 2 females <10, 1 female 16-26. No known relation fits these data. These listing account for all the sons of Johannes Peter Klein except for the youngest, Johannes Klein, who should have been 26 in 1800. He could be one of the males living with his brothers.

4	The History of the Counties of Lehigh and Carbon , PA by Alfred Mathews, p. 331-32 biography of Phillip Lauer. "Phillip Lauer settled upon a tract of forty-seven acres of land which he bought April 10 A.D. 1810, from Nicholas Klein. This was a part of a farm of one hundred eighty acres which was surveyed and warranted to Casper Blylor, on the 29th day of April, 1746. It lies one mile east of the village of Alburtis, and is now occupied by his grandson, Jonas Lauer. May 28, 1827, Phillip obtained a patent thereof from the commonwealth upon giving an indenture of mortgage thereon for the sum of $141.29.

• Whether the Nicholas Klein of Longswamp Church in 1800 is the same person as Nicholas Klein/Kleyn of The Lehigh Church in 1802-1808 is unclear. His first wife, Elisabeth may have died, as there is only the one record at Longswamp. Nicholas possibly remarried to Maria from the Lehigh congregation. Because the baptismal sponsors at Longswamp in 1800 are Johannes & Catherina Klein, it is probable that Nicholas (married to Elisabeth) is their son. The relationship of Nicholas (married to Maria, with children born 1802-1808) is less certain.
• We expect that Nicholas Klein was named for an uncle Nicholas Klein. There is a Nicholas Klein and Margaretha, whose four children were born between 1776 and 1781, as recorded in Records of Lehigh Church/Zion's Lutheran Church. This older Nicholas is probably a brother of Johannes Peter Klein, but we have no record of him as such.

Longswamp church records for a possible marraige record, Joh. Nicholas Klein & Magdalena Unknown; a death record of Magdalena Klein, or additional baptismal records for children of Nicholas & Magdalena. Needed to establish whether Magdalena was a first wife to Nicholas, son of Johannes & Catharina Klein, or if Nicholas, husband of Magdalena, is another person.
