Source Notes
Neither of the 1870 census records is conclusive; the ages and locations are about right, but in both cases Mary is living with unknowns. The first record does put Mary in proximity to known ancestors, but they are ancestors in the wrong branch of the tree; there is no indication that she is related to these ancestors (if this is the right Mary Glenn, then her great-grandson Bert Winniford Wilson would eventually marry the granddaughter of her neighbors, Clara Mabel Wimer). It is odd, however, that she would go by her maiden name in this census. The second 1870 record has a more likely last name (Stoughton) but the Stoughton boys she is living with aren't her sons.
