Household of Andrew Stoughton: 1 male under 5, 1 male 5-10, 1 male 10-15, 1 male 40-50, 1 female under 5, 1 female 5-10, 2 females 10-15, 1 female 30-40. These seem to correspond to Jacob, John, Matthew, father Andrew Stoughton, Catherine, Hannah, Rachel, an unknown daughter, & mother Mary Glenn. The unknown daughter may have died before 1850, or may cast doubt on the match. However, Household of William Stoughton, brother of Andrew, seems to be next door	.
2	1850 United States Federal Census, Centre Twp., Butler Co., PA, Page 281, Lines 36-42 shows Andrew Stoughton, 48, married to Mary Stoughton, 50. They live with five children: son Matthrew Stoughton, 18; son John Stoughton, 17; daughter Hannah Stoughton, 15; daughter Catherine Stoughton, 11; and son Jacob Stoughton, 10. Note that this household appears at the bottom of the census page but does not continue on the next page. Andrew Stoughton is a farmer. Everyone was born in PA. Hannah, Catherine, and Jacob attended school within the census year. This census is dated 21 Sep 1850.
3	1860 United States federal Census, Franklin Twp, Butler Co, PA, page 16. Census dated 27 June, 1860. Lines 6-11: John Stoton, 25, farmer, $3000 real, $813 personal property; Mary J., 25; James, 6; Mary O., 3; Hannah J., 1; Lucinda, 6 months. All b. PA. Name is misspelled, but children are correct for John C. Stoughton and Mary Jane McCandless
4	1870 United States Federal Census, Franklin Township, Butler County, PA, Page 13, lines 1-8 lists John Stoughton, 34, married to Mary, 33. They live with seven children: son James Stoughton, 15; daughter Mary Stoughton, 14; daughter Ann Stoughton, 11; daughter Elizabeth Stoughton, 8; daughter Ellen Stoughton, 4; and daughter Jane Stoughton, 2. John Stoughtonis listed as a farmer, Mary Stoughton as "keeping house," and James Stoughton as "farm laborer." Everyone is listed as having been born in PA. Mary Stoughton has a "father of foreign birth." James, Mary, Ann, and Elizabeth attended school within the year. Mary and Ann are listed as unable to write. This census page is undated. However, the previous page is dated July 21, 1870 and the following page is dated July 21,22 1870.

Stoughton is a farmer. Everyone and their parents were born in PA. Ellin and Sydy attended school within the census year. This census is dated 9 Jun 1880.
