+ | Sarah Jane Kline was the 10th child of John & Annie Kline. In about 1866, at age 18 or 19, she married Joseph Mong who was about 6 years her senior. Four years later they had 3 toddlers of their own, were raising a 4 yr. old nephew of Joseph's, and had a single parent Catherine Huddleston and her two toddlers living with them. Over the next 30 years Sarah had 11 more children, six of whom died before 1900. Sarah's husband and a seventh child died by 1910. Sarah and Joe Mong owned a farm without mortgage by 1900, but in 1910 she was renting her home. The farm may have gone to one of the children. | ||
