Hazel, daughter of Annie Kline and J. Austin Sheffer, played the piano well, with or without music. She played piano at the theatre in the days of silent movies. She worked for years as a telephone operator in Emlenton PA, so knew the townspeople. She accumulated a large collection of vintage photographs, and did preliminary work on the genealogy of the Sheffer and Kline families.
