Johannes Frantz Kuhnemuth, resident of Frankershausen, was a "fuhrman" , a wagon driver. When he was 44 years old his first wife died leaving him with 5 children. Three years later he remarried and had 3 additional children. He died when his youngest child was age 13. Forty-five years later his youngest son would immigrate, late in life, to America.

This research was commissioned by Judy King in 1991. Jacob Kuhnemuth, handelsmann (tradesman) and fuhrmann (transporter, or wagon driver), born 20 Oct 1796 in Frankershausen; died 24 June 1872 in USA, Ono, PA. He married on 30 Sept 1824 to Dorothea Eliesabeth Schindewolf, born 28 Nov 1804 in Frankershausen Brummerhof. The parents of Jacob Kuhnemuth were Johannes Frantz Kuhnemuth and Anna Eliesabeth Schindewolf. Johannes Frantz Kuhnemuth, birth date not listed, baptized 21 Feb. 1745. He died at age 66 yrs, on 20 Jan 1811 at Frankershausen. Johannes Frantz Kuhnemuth married first on 20 Feb 1780 to Eliesabeth Bottner from Orpherode (now Orferode). She was born in 1757, died 26 Feb 1790 at age 32 yrs. - Research of Trudy Schenk, A. G., Salt Lake City, UT, commissioned by Judy King. Film #806732 birth record in Evangelical Church and civil office of Frankershausen, Kanton Abterode: On 19 Aug 1809, the driver Johann Kunemuth from Frankershausen age 37 yrs. (calc. b. 1772) reported the birth of a male child born on 18 Aug, to be named Johann Claus, born by his wife Anna Elisabetha. Witnesses: Jacob Kuhnemuth and Johann Claus Kuhnemuth.
(This could be an additional child of Johannes Frantz Kuhnemuth and wife Anna Elisabetha Schindewolf. If so, witness Jacob Kuhnemuth may be an uncle of the child - & a brother of the father, Johannes Frantz Kuhnemuth. Witness Johann Claus Kuhnemuth could be the father (Claus Kuhnemuth) of Johannes Frantz Kuhnemuth, or his grandfather).
The link is problematic in that Johannes Frantz Kuhnemuth already has one son named Claus,born in 1789 by his first wife. If this 2nd Claus is his, it puts a gap of 11 yrs between the 1809 birth and that of the previous child (b. 1798).
