When the daughter of Anna Catharina Becker and Jakob Speck was born, named Anna Margarethe Speck, her godmaother was "Margarethe, widow of Johannes Becker". At the 1785 baptism of Anna Margarethe Speck , her godmother (sponsor) was "Margarethe, widow of Johannes Becker". Since Anna Margarethe Speck's grandfather is Johannes Becker, it is likely that his wife's name was Margarethe, and that Johannes died before 1785. Apparently, direct church records to confirm this relationship were not found, beyond this baptismal record.
