Research

Ref. Num. Description Image of original
7 1870 United States Federal Census, Spring Creek, Johnson Co., NE, dated 17 Jun 1870.

Page 1, lines 37-40 and Page 2, lines 1-2: Alex. McColock, 37, farmer; living with Arminta McColock, 26, keeping house; Robert McColock, 15; Emily McColock, 11; Martha McColock, 9, and Marion McColock, 5. Everyone was born in IN except Marion, who was born in NE.

This source is a bit of a stretch... if Arminta is the wife of Alex, and the kids are hers, then she had a son when she was 11?? Also, Robert and Emily would have been born prior to the 1860 census, when we see Arminta living at home. Aaah, previous marriage. See this tree: http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/21790383/person/1150926716 The eventual son "Warren Erastus McColloch" sells it as the correct Arminta.
