Source Notes
- The obituary of John S. Heeter is published in December 1953; his gravestone has his death date as 1954, which is probably the year the date was engraved on his stone.
- The 1900 census for John S. Heeter lists his wife as Myrtle, b. Sept 1875. The name appears to be in error. The birth year of 1875 agrees with both the 1910 census and the gravestone for wife Iona, so we suspect the name Myrtle is in error. Wife Iona in 1910 reports being married for 16 years.
