James Robison, Jr.
From MouserAncestry
Russell W. Wilson, grandson of Margaret Jane "Maggie" Robison, told of visiting her house as a child one day while she was churning butter. "Uncle Dick", Maggie's bachelor brother dropped by and said he'd like a glass of that buttermilk. Then he asked her to drop a raw egg into it. He mixed the egg & buttermilk together and drank it for lunch.

Source notes
- The 1850 census for Parker Twp. shows a James Robison of correct age, living with an apparently widowed mother, and a younger brother Joseph. All these items fit with our known data. However, the sister Lucinda was not formerly known. The sister Margaret, researched independently by the Robison family (notes of John Trembly Robison in 1930's) and the Wilson family (John T. Wilson family interviews in 1970's & 80's), is not listed in this census. The mother's name "Jane" conflicts with the name Elizabeth Means reported by John Trembly Robison. Perhaps her name was Elizabeth Jane Means. Or, see Research notes below re. other Robisons in the county.
- The 1870 census lists James Robinson, Jr., as being one year old, which is not consistent with either the 1860 or 1880 records. It is likely an error in the 1870 census; his true age at the time should be 10. It is also possible that a son James born in 1860 died young, and a second son born in 1869 was then named James.
Research
- The 1850 census has several James Robison's in PA, but none that can be clearly linked to James Robison, Jr.. The death of both parents between 1840 and 1850 possibly led to the dispersal of the children. The 1844 will indicates that either Alex McBride or James Clark will be guardian, but the children do not appear with those families in the 1850 census.
- Gravestone, West Liberty Cemetery, for McDeavitt, William W. 1879-1965, Ida M. 1882-1962, Orrie L. 1903-1966. This is a different couple from the above Ida Robison & William McDeavitt, who are found in the 1900 census with Ida age 28, therefore born about 1871/72, and William F. age 28. This birth date fits with Ida's dates above.
