• 1895 History of Butler Co. PA by Brown, pg. 616 re. Brady Twp., "Early Industries" : "The Smith Neil grist mill on McDeavitt's run was erected about 1810. Nicholas Klingensmith purchased or leased the property from Neil, and the Hoge Brothers ultimately became owners. It ceased operations many years ago, so that only the oldest residents remember it."
