Notes

[1] These dates do not match up with the gravestone at Salem Lutheran Cemetery. The gravestone was transcribed in 1995 by Elizabeth Wilson Williams as reading, "David Bower 1825-1866; Caroline S. His wife 1831-1905". The dates in the cemetery association record are suspect, since David Bower is shown as having died before his wife was born.

The numbers preceeding names (e.g. 6-2) indicate a birth order and a generation. For example, 6-2 indicates the 6th born child, one generation removed from the progenitor (in this case, the progenitor—who's first name was not available in the cemetery association records—is the father of Dr. John, David, Rachel, etc.).

The margin notes (e.g. 4J14, 5H11, and the numbers in parenthesis) refer to grave site locations within the cemetery.
