Transcription of Robert Logan's Will

I Robert Logan of Cranberry township Butler county and state of Pennsylvania being of sound mind but weak of body do make and publish this my last will and testament.

And first I commit my soul to almighty god who gave it and my body to be _______ intured and to such worldly estate as it has pleased god to intrust me with it.

I dispose of as follows vis I do direct that all my debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon after my decease as possible out of the first moneys that should come into the funds of my executors from any portion of my estate.

Also I do direct that the next produce of my estate real or personal be divided equally as soon as it can be done, share and share alike among my wife and several children who have survived me. Except my son in law Robert Bell I will and bequeath to him and his wife Martha Bell formerly Martha Logan the sum of one dollar to be in full of their share.

The heirs or representatives of any of my children who shall have died between the time of my decease and the time such divisions or distribution to be entitled to such share or shares as their ancestors would have been entitled to receive if known living.

And the share of my estate thus bequeath to my wife be in lieu of her dower at common law and also the two hundred dollars that I allowed my wife for signing the deed to John and Thomas Patterson for the property sold to them in Slippery Rock township Butler County Pa. I still allow my executors to recover and pay over to her over and above her share before mentioned as the payments become due and specific on the mortgage.

I do hearby make and ordain my esteemed friends Alexander McBride Esqr. and Isaac S. Pearson executors of this my last will and testament. In contorls whereof I Robert Logan the testifier to this my last word written on one sheet of paper. Let my name and seal this 18th day of April in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and forty.
