4 | Obituary of Frederick Edwin Kline in The Derrick, 9 Apr 1973, pg. 12. RIMERSBURG - Frederick E. (Fred) Kline, 75, of Main Street, retired supervising engineer of Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania, died Saturday night in the Armstrong County Memorial Hospital in Kittanning. He was born September 17, 1897, in Emlenton, a son of John and Ella Frederick Kline. He was married November 24, 1920, to the former Mary Rugh. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1970. Mr. Kline retired from Columbia Gas in 1962 after 42 years service. He was a member of the Rimersburg United Methodist Church and the Keystone Adult Bible Class of the church. He also was a member of the Rimersburg Community Club, Emlenton Lodge 562, F&A.M. receiving his 50-year Masonic pin in 1976, was a member of the Venango Lodge of Perfection in Oil City, New Castle Consistory, Rimersburg Hose Company and the Red Bank Valley Columbians. Surviving along with his wife, Mrs. Mary Kline, are two sons, Fred Kline, Jr. of Sligo and Dick Kline of Rimersburg; four granddaughters and a great-granddaughter; a sister, Mary Filgrove of Emlenton. Friends are being received at the Moore-Kline Funeral Home in Rimersburg, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. J. D. Schrecengost, pastor of the Rimersburg United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Rimersburg Cemetery. A Masonic memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. | |

Mary Cathryn Kline, age 102, of Rimersburg, died 5 Dec. 2000 at Country Springs Assisted Living, Sligo. Born 12 Feb 1898 in Mariasville, Venango Co., she was a dau. of George B. and Ella Klingler Rugh. Mrs. Kline was employed in 1943 as a clerk in the Clover Farm Store owned by Harry Thopson, later by Marion Filetti and Dilbert Garver, until her retirement. She was a member of Rimersburg United Methodist Church for the past 50 years; of the Order of Eastern Star for nearly 80 years, first of the Sligo Chapter No. 289 and then Clarion Chapter No. 267. Mrs. Kline was married in Franklin Nov. 24, 1920, to Frederick E. Kline Sr., who died 7 Apr 1973. Surviving are two sons and their wives, Frederick E. Kline Jr. and Peggy of Shippenville, and Dick E. and Rosie Kline of Rimersburg; four granddaughters, Mrs. Jerry (Paula) Lojak of Girard and Mrs. Robert (Cathy) Carmichael, Mary Kline and Martha Kline, all of Rimersburg; four great-granddaughters, Mrs. James (Lori) Horn of Girard, Mrs. Scott (Rachel) Kindel of Sligo, Mrs Jason (Rebekah) Nellis of Ninevah and Sarah Carmichael of Rimersburg; three g-g-granddaughters, Carrie, Allison and Jamie of girard; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Kline was preceded in death by threee brothers, Clyde Rugh, Clifton Rugh, and Dick Rugh; and one sister, Mrs. Bessie Snyder. The Rev. James M. Easton, pastor of Rimersburg United Methodist Church officiating at Hillis Funeral Home, Rimersburg Friday 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Rimersburg Cemetery. |

Margaret Marie "Peggy" Kline, 87, of Pine Terrace, Shippenville, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Sunday, September 5, 2010. She was born in Ramseytown on August 21, 1923. She was the daughter of Peter and Elizabeth Scadden Nelson.
She married Fred E. Kline, Jr. in Rimersburg on January 14, 1942. They were married by the Reverend Roy Frazer. Peggy and Fred lived in Sligo for 55 years. She and her husband moved to Pine Terrace in 1997.
She worked for First Seneca Bank in Sligo for 13 years. She then worked at the Sears catalog store in Clarion for 11 years.
Peggy was a past matron of the Sligo chapter of the Order of Eastern Star having served in 1954. She was a member of the Manor United Methodist Church in Shippenville. Peggy enjoyed spending time with her family and spending her winters in Myrtle Beach, SC. |
