Source notes

  • George Pope is married to Eliza Thomas on Dec 7, 1859, so it would appear that Nancy Thomas Pope died before this date.
  • There is some question about William Pope (son of George and Nancy Pope) In the 1850 census he is listed as William S. age 3. In the 1860 census he is listed as William, age 8. There are several possible explanations, but this needs clarification.
