They live with 5 children: son Hutchin Cline, 6; daughter Mary A. Cline, 4; son John A. Cline, 3; son George H. Cline, 2; and daughter Barbara F. Cline, age 9 months. Henry is a farmer. Everyone was born in PA. Hutchin Cline attended school within the census year. This census is dated 27 Jul 1860.

2 1880 United States Federal Census, Elk Township, Clarion County, PA, Enumeration District 68, Page 13, lines 25-29 lists John Kline, 23, living as a boarder along with his sister, Ida Kline, 13, who was a servant, in the house of John H. Strutman, 30, and his wife Mary Strutman, 24. John Kline's occupation is listed as a carpenter; Ida Kline's occupation is listed as a servant. Both John Kline and Ida Kline, as well as their parents, were born in PA. Ida attended school during the census year. Both Ida and John Kline can read and write English. This census is dated 7 Jun 1880.

  • Per Ella Wilson manuscript: Mary Ann Kline was the 2nd wife of John Henry Strotman. By his first wife, Maggie Young, he had one son, John William Strotman. John Henry Strotman married 3rd Francis Rupple; no children. Ella Wilson refers to "Strotman's book", possibly a family history.
