Ref. Num. Description Image of original
1 Will of William King, Mecklenburg Co., NC Will Book D, pgs. 137-38. Signed 12 Nov. 1788.
Names 4 children as Archibald Crocket, John King, Elizabeth McCorkle, & William (McCullah?); wife Mary Ann; sons John King and Archibald Crocket as executors; witnesses Eli Crocket, Julius Elliott, Henry (Downs).
The date of signing this will appears to be 1722 or 1728 or 1788; however it is written in "Mecklenburg Co". which was formed in 1762, so we assume 1788 to be correct. Annotated copy submitted by Murphy Whisnant who notes: This is the earliest document of our King line in Mecklenburg County NC after Mecklenburg was formed in 1762 from Anson County.
