Johann Peter Hachenberg was 23 years younger than our direct line ancestor [[Peter Hockenberry]], and arrived in America 14 years after Peter arrived.  Based solely on surname, it is thought that the two may have come from the same town (Hachenburg)in Germany.  Additional records have not been found, possibly due to name change - to which this family seems particularly prone.  If he was related to [[Peter Hockenberry]] b. 1718, he was likely a cousin or nephew rather than a brother.

NOT A DIRECT ANCESTOR

Johann Peter Hachenberg is not in my direct ancestry. No relationship is currently known to exist. Johan Peter is one of four early immigrants to America (1720-1764) found to have name variants of Hachenburg or the Anglicized Hockenberry.
