"Johann Peter Hachenberg was born in Germany in 1741, arrived in Philadelphia in 1764 on the English ship "Janeffer"; settled in Bucks Co., Pa; fougnt in the American Rev. Johann Peter Hachenberg was 23 years younger than our direct line ancestor Peter Hockenberry, and arrived in America 14 years after Peter arrived. Based solely on surname, it is thought that the two may have come from the same town (Hachenburg)in Germany. If he was related to Peter Hockenberry b. 1718, he was likely a cousin or nephew rather than a brother.
