Mecklenburg County – In the Superior Court.
In the matter of the will of Julius A. King
Alphonso W. King being sworn doth say: That Julius A. King, late of said County is dead, having first made and published his last will and Testament; and that there is no executor named therein. Further, that the property of the said Julius A. King consisting of 26 acres of land is worth about $600.00 and personal property worth about $30.00 so far as can be ascertained at the date of this application; and that Margaret E. King and her children by this applicant are the legatees and devisees named in said will and entitled to said property, applicant asks that said will be admitted to probate and recorded as the law directs.

In the name of God, Amen. I, Julius A. King being of sound mind and disposing memory
do make publish and ordain this to be my last will and testament:
First I will and direct that my body be decently buried at Moore's Chapel in Paw Creek Township and that my funeral expenses be paid out of such monies as may be on hand at my death.
Second I do hereby give and bequeath to Margaret E. King and her children by her husband Alphonso W. King during the joint or several lives of the said Alphonso W. and Margaret E. King and after the death of the said Alphonso W. King if said wife Margaret E. King shall survive him then to her during her widowhood and after death then to all her surviving children by her said husband Alphonso W. King share and share alike in fee simple all my land and real estate in Paw Creek Township consisting of twenty six (26) acres by actual survey and known as the old George King Place.
Third I do hereby give and bequeath to Gracy L. King eldest daughter of Alphonso W. King and Margaret E. King all my personal property of whatsoever Kind and description I may die possessed.

In the Superior Court – A paper purporting to be the last will and testament of Julius A. King, deceased, is exhibited before me, the undersigned, Clerk Superior Court for said County, by Alphonso W. King husband and father of the devisees therein named, no executor being therein mentioned, and the due execution thereof by the said Julius A. King proved by the oath and examination of S. W. Davis and D. L. McCord the subscribing witnesses thereto; who being duly sworn doth depose and say, and each for himself deposeth and saith, that he is a subscribing witness to the paper writing now shown him, purporting to be the last will and testament of Julius A. King; that the said Julius A. King in the presence of this deponent subscribed his name with a mark, at the end of said paper writing, which is now shown as aforesaid and which bears...[end of available copy].
