JAMES L. WILSON, DEAD FOUR DAYS, FOUND NEAR HOME. Slippery Rock Man believed to be Victim of Heart Attack.
After lying in an outbuilding near his home for four days, the body of James Wilson, 72, of Slippery Rock, was found last Wednesday afternoon by his brother-in-law Solomon Stoughton. The cause of his death is unknown but it is thought he suffered a heart attack or a stroke.
Mr. Wilson and his wife lived on Franklin street, Slippery Rock. He was a lumber dealer and farmer and was in the habit of being absent from home for days at a time. He left the house Saturday morning and no anxiety was felt by his wife when he didn't return in the evening. She surmised that he had gone away on one of his short trips.
Mr. Stoughton came to the home on business on Wednesday. It was at this time that inquiries started as to Wilson's whereabouts. It (was)found that he had visited none of the usual places on his route. A search was then initiated and his body was found in the outbuilding. Physicians say that he had been dead for 4 days.
He is survived by his widow and two sons, Bert of Slippery Rock and James of Tionesta.
Funeral services were held from the home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Ira Scott was in charge. Interment was made in the Muddy Creek cemetery.
