She has born three children and they are all still living and present: Ruth Hayes, 7, born Oct 1892, Jennie's first child and Henry's stepdaughter; Cordelia G. Hager, 3, born Dec 1896; and Bessie L. Hager, 8 months, born Sep 1899. Henry was born in WI, his parents in Germany. Jennie and her parents were born in PA. The children were all born in PA. Ruth's father was born in WA. 6 | Obituary for Ruth Hayes Radley, publication unknown. Courtesy of A. Fix. "Services for Ruth Radley of McMinnville will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the McMinnville Assembly of God. Pastor Gene Staples will officiate. Mrs. Radley died Feb. 23, 1985, in the Carousel Care Center. She was 92. Interment will be in the Fern-hill cemetery in Chehalis, Wash. Born Oct 4, 1892, in Lewis County, Wash., she was the daughter of Arnold and Louella Stoughton Hayes. She attended the State School for the Blind in Vancouver, Wash., and received her certificate of merit after eight terms. In 1920, she began attending the Northwest Methodist Deacons Training School and graduated in 1922. She served as a layworker in the Methodist Church for a year, then went to Sacramento, where she worked for the Peniel Mission for three years. She also served in the country mission field for 16 years and then spent 15 years with the Sorenson Family in various pastorates, in Idaho and Oregon. She moved to Dundee in the 1950's where she and James E. Radley were married Dec. 10, 1957. He preceded her in death in 1966. Mrs. Radley moved to McMinnville in 1958 and served as an Assembly of God associate minister. She was a member of the McMinnville Assembly of God, the Women's Christian Temperance Union and the Yamhill County chapter of the Oregon Council of the Blind. Survivors include a step-daughter, Mrs. Wayne Chambers of Missouri, a cousin Sam Stoughton of California and friends Dorothy Cox and Lloyd Hinkle, both of McMinnville. Arrangements are being handled by Macy & Son Funeral Directors of McMinnville." |
