UNDOCUMENTED ANCESTOR

CAUTION: THIS LINE OF RESEARCH IS UNDER REVIEW, AND WILL BE CHANGED. There are obvious errors in the dates & information for Maria Covert which put the ancestry beyond this point in question. Note that the birth date given for Maria Covert (1590) precludes her being the parent of Resolved Waldron (born 1594). Her marriage date is given as 1610; this is after the son was born. Either the dates for her are in error, or she is not the direct line ancestor. She may be a 2nd wife of Johannes Waldron.
Note also that Johannes Waldron would be only 15 years old in 1594, when Resolved Waldron was born. Both of these names may be in error. It appears that multiple individuals by the name Maria Govert are being tracked. This page, from undocumented sources, is being temporarily retained only as a holding point for further research. There appears to be an effort on many websites to connect with Edward Waldron/Walderne I, by whatever means. Please use advisedly, and post only with appropriate disclaimers.

DISCLAIMER: USE OF UNDOCUMENTED WEB SOURCES

Some of the information on this page was found on websites presented by researchers who have either not listed their sources completely or employ the circular logic of citing additional undocumented websites.
These web site sources are listed separately below. The attribution number for these web sources is preceded by a "W".
As we frequently find conflicting information on the web family trees, we offer the un-sourced information here as a starting point for further research only. We discourage its inclusion on additional posted websites or in other reproduced material without either further documentation or a disclaimer.

W2 The Waldrons of Greene County, NY and Beyond - Family Page, a semi-documented family tree prepared by Ronald Allan Waldron pf Leeds NY. See: http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/w/a/l/Ronald-A-Waldron/WEBSITE-0001/UHP-0103.html
  • Maria Goverts, (dau. of Govert Jans & Pieterje Michiels) born 1585 in Amsterdam, Noord Holland, Netherlands, and died after 1661 in probably Haarlem, Holland. (Sources 206 & 207 his website: R.A. Waldron quotes emails from two other researchers, their sources not given).
  • Maria Goverts married(1st) Johannes Willemsen Waldron in 1609 in Harlem Holland, son of William Walderne of Alcester and Agnes Dislin. (Source 209 his website: R.A. Waldron quotes FamilySearch.org/Ancestral File, and says "Since the information in Ancestral File is contributed, it is the responsibility of those who use the file to verify its accuracy". If he has verified it, there is no notation of such.
  • Maria Goverts married (2nd) Daniel Adriaenszen Lernou on Feb. 16, 1613/14 in Walloon Church, Amsterdam, Holland, son of Adrien Lernout, of Walloon Church of Amsterdam, and Lea De Monstreul. (Again, from other researchers, their documents not noted.)
Note: Sources noted by R.A. Waldron seem to be primarily other researchers, with their primary/secondary sources not documented. Any data with primary/secondary source information will be listed above, in our Sources section.

Source Notes

  • Source W2 -The Waldron Family of Greene County NY... lists spouses Annetje Daniels and Joseph Willemszen Waldron as half-siblings, both children of Maria Goverts (1585-after 1661) but with different fathers. (If correct, this explains why the research on Maria Goverts has seemed to lead back on itself illogically.) On this website, two marriages are listed for Maria Goverts, and it is unclear whether they believe there to have been two marriages, or whether they are just listing all found information on the name Maria Goverts. It is highly possible that two different individuals are being traced, possibly one from Amsterdam and one from Haarlem.
