Pages unnumbered; this material on 3rd page from end of manuscript.

HEINLY ANCESTORS
The ancestor of all the Heinlys in Berks County and vicinity was Matthias Heinly (he wrote his name Matthes Heinlein). He came to Pennsylvania on the ship "Patience", September 19, 1749. He settled almost immediately near Lehigh Church in Macungie township, now Lehigh County, but then still a part of Northampton County.
He brought with him his wife and 2 sons and 3 daughters. They came from Wilhelmberg, Wurttemberg, Germany. His wife's name was Barbara, maiden name not known. She died on March 6, 1773 and was buried at Lehigh Church by Rev. Jacob van Buskirk. This is in the church record, but no gravestone for her can be found now.
Matthias Heinly made a will, dated Mar. 2, 1773. It is not known exactly when he died, but he too is probably buried at Lehigh church.
The children were:
David Heinly
Johannes (John) Heinly
Agnes Heinly, confirmed at Lehigh church 1756, married George Greber.
Magdalena Heinly, confirmed at Lehigh church 1756, no further information.
_____ Heinly, a daughter, name not known. (Ed. "Agnes" has been written into the space. The writer probably overlooked the previous listing of daughter Agnes Heinly; however, the possibility exists that two daughters bore the same name. Unlikely here, as the first Agnes appears to have survived and married. )

Johannes Heinly married Catherine _____, and apparently remained living near Lehigh Church. Nothing known about his family.

David Heinly, b. Oct. 17, 1728, d. Oct. 3, 1784, buried at Dunkel's Church. He was the oldest son of Matthias and about the time his parents died he moved to Greenwich township, where he became a member of Dunkel's church. the Heinly family association put up a small monument some years ago, but his original gravestone is also still there. He married before he left Lehigh Church and four of his children were baptized there, and one at the Lutheran church at Grimville in Greenwich township. His wife's name was Sabina, maiden name unknown. No gravestone can be found at Dunkel's for her. David and Sabina had five children of whom we know. (Ed. The number five has been lined out and "10" written in.)
1. Johan George Heinly, ("oldest" written in), b. July 15, 1758, bapt. at Lehigh church Aug. 20, 1758, died Aug. 27, 1840, buried at Dunkel's church. He married Eva George, born May 14, 1768, d. Oct. 17, 1825, also buried at Dunkel's church. Not much is known about his family, but he had a son also called Goerge:
George Heinly, b. Feb. 13, 1789, d. Mar. 22, 1865, m. Catharine Leiby, b. Dec. 10, 1791, d. Dec. 16, 1875, both buried at Dunkel's.
2. Maria Elisabetha, bapt. at Lehigh church, June 5, 1763.
3. JOHAN DAVID HEINLY (see below for his family). (Ed. This section available at Lehigh Co. Hist. Soc.; not copied here).
4. Anna Maria Heinly, bapt. at Lehigh church Nov. 29, 1767.
5. Johannes Heinly, bapt. at Lehigh church Nov. 25, 1769.
