Margaret has given birth to 10 children, 5 of whom are still alive. Frederick, Margaret, and their parents were all born in Germany. Christian was born in Maine. Huf Jr., 19 months, and a boarder named Curtis E. Bingley, 35. Marion and Olive have been married for 30 years and have had three children (only two present here), Frederick and Margaret have been married for 3 years and have had one child (present here). Marion, Olive, and Francis were born in Indiana. The elder Frederick was born in New York. Margaret and the younger Frederick were born in Missouri. Marion's father was born in Virginia, his mother in Vermont. Olive's father was born in New York, her mother in Tennessee. The elder Frederick's parents were both born in "Ger. Germany." Marion and his son are both listed as being "proofreaders" in the newspaper business. They live on Marquette Ave.

Paradoxically, all of the children have their parents listed as being born in Indiana as well [probably typo on the part of the enumerator]. The elder Frederick is listed as being a "Short Hand Reporter" at the court house. The younger Frederick is a Clerk at Missouri Pacific Rail Road Office. The younger Margaret's occupation is illegible, but the field is "music." They live on Marquette Ave.

9 Obituary for Frederick William Huf in the St. Louis Globe-Democrat's 18 Jun 1952 edition indicates that he died at the age of 69 in the Manchester Nursing Home in St. Louis County. He was a court reporter in St. Louis for 30 years. He retired in 1943, having been the head of the Associated Shorthand Reporters. He graduated from the old Benton Law College. He had lived at the home of his daughter and son-in law, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Montgomery Langan at 46 Hardith Hill Ct., Rock Hill, MO. Survivors include his widow Mrs. Margaret Murphy Huf and another daughter, Mrs. Sylvia Salyer. He was buried in Lakewood Park Cemetery.
