This was scanned from the personal archives of Sylvia Lanza. She included the following comments:
"Mardi Gras, Late 1940's. Dick has a whole branch of the Lanza family in New Orleans. His grandfather, Bernard and his brother Louie emigrated from Sicily in 1898 (we have the ship manifest). Eventually Louie went to New Orleans and became prosperous with a wrought iron factory, and was active in business men's clubs, so they had a float in the Mardi Gras. Dick's parents went down there regularly. Dick's parents [ Charles Frank Lanza and Margaret Anna Sciallo ] are in the center."
