Source notes
- Per Judy King, the Frederick ancestors of Emma Lena Pfaff originated in Pfaffenbeerfurth in Odenwald, Hessen. Some of them spent time in Carlyle, PA. They do not appear to be related to our direct line ancestry Frederick family. Judy gives her great-grandmother's name as Emma Lena Pfaff, while the gravestone has Emma C. The stonecarver probably heard "LEna" as "C".
