This Indenture, Made the first day of April in the year of our Lord, One Thousand eight hundred and forty four Between Efraim Kech of the Township of Lower Macungie in the county of Lehigh, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Yeoman, and Rebecca his wife of the one part, and Nathan Smoyer of the township of Long Swamp in the county of Berks and Commonwealth aforesaid, Cordwainer, of the other part. Witnesseth, That the said Ephriam Keck and Rebecca his wife for and in consideration of the sum of three thousand eighty seven dollars and ninety cents lawful money of the United States to them in hand paid by the said Nathan Smoyer at the before the Ensealing and Delivery hereof, the Receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and therefore do acquit and forever discharge the said Nathan Smoyer Heirs, Executors and Administrators, By these Presents, have granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, released and confirmed and by these Presents do grant, bargain sell, alien, enfeoff, release and confirm unto the said Nathan Smoyer and to his Heirs and Assigns, All that certain Messuage and tract or piece of land Situated in the township of Lower Macungie aforesaid bounded and described as follows to wit: Beginning at a stone a corner of George Kemener's Land thence by the same South fifty five Degrees West Seventeen perches and a half to a Stone, thence by Land of Jacob Mack and Peter Koehler South seventy Degrees West one Hundred and sixty one perches to a stone, thence by Land of George Kahm North nine Degrees and three quarters East eighty perches and a half to a stone, thence by Land of Henry Reinhard due East, one Hundred and fifty one perches and three quarters to a stone, thence by land of John Reinhard due south fourteen perches and a half to the place of Beginning. containing forty seven acres and eighty two perches strict measure be the same more or less; It being the same premises which John Beaver and Catharine his wife by Indenture bearing the date the first Day of April Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and twelve for the consideration therein mentioned did grant and confirm unto George Adam Klein, and the George Adam Klein and Christina his wife by their Indenture bearing the date the sixth Day of April Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and thirteen for the consideration therein mentioned did grant and confirm the same unto Michael Brey, and the said Michael Brey and Maria his wife by their Indenture, bearing the date the twenty second Day of February Anno Domini One thousand eight hundred and twenty one for the consideration therein mentioned did grant and confirm the same unto Philip Klein and the said Philip Kline and Margaret his wife by their Indenture bearing date the eighteenth day of April Anno Domini One thousand eight hundred and forty for the consideration therein mentioned did grant and confirm the same unto the said Ephraim Heck (the grantor hereof) and to his heirs and assigns forever. Recourse to the said Indentures had more fully and at large appears. together with all singular the improvements Ways, Woods, Waters, Water Courses, Rights, Liberties, Privileges, Hereditaments and Appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging, or in any wise appertaining: And the Reversions, and Remainders, Rents, Issues and Profits thereof; and also, all the Estate, right, Title, Interest, Use, Trust, Property, Possession, Claim and Demand, whatsoever of them the said Ephraim Heck and Rebecca his wife in law of equite, or otherwise howsoever, of, in , to or out of the same: To have and to hold the said Messuage and tract or piece of forty seven acres and eighty two perches of Land Hereditaments and Premises hereby granted, or mentioned or intended so to be, with the appurtenances, unto the said Nathan Smoyer his Heirs and Assigns: To the only proper use and behoof of him the said Nathan Smoyer his Heirs and Assigns forever.

And the said Ephraim Keck for himself his Heirs, Executors, and Administrators, doth covenant, promise, grant and agree, to and with the said Nathan Smoyer his Heirs and Assigns by these Presents: That he the said Ephraim Keck and his Heirs, the said above mentioned and described Messuage and tract or piece of land Hereditaments and Premises hereby granted and released, or mentioned, or intends so to be, with the Appurtenances unto the said Nathan Smoyer his Heirs and Assigns; against him the said Ephraim Keck and his Heirs, and against all and every other person and persons whomsoever lawfully claiming, or claim the same or any part or parcel thereof by from or (under) him they or any of them shall and will Warrant and forever Defend by these Presents. In Witness whereof the said parties to the presents have hereunto interchangeably set their Hands and Seals.
