Research

The material in this section is for research leads only. We do not wish to imply any connection to our family at present, nor suggest its use without additional confirmation.

  • The Erwin family listing from the Steele Creek Historical and Genealogical Society web site lists the wife of Andrew Herron as Dorcas Herron, daughter of "Colonel Robert Irwin" and Mary Alexander. Margaret Irwin is listed as the wife of Hugh McDowell. The gravestone in the Steele Creek Cemetery shows Andrew Heron and Margaret Herron (alias Irwin) There is no evidence to indicate that Margaret is a daughter is Robert Irwin.
