Lines 22-26: John Vanmeter, 66, lives with his wife Rebecca Vammeter, 59, John's daughter Henrietta Vanmeter, 22, Rebecca's son Henry L. Dawson, 19, and Rebecca's son Fernando C. Dawson, 16. John is a farmer. Henry and Fernando work as farm laborers. Henrietta is teaching (illegible). John was born in VA, Rebecca in NH, all the kids were born in IN.
3	Civil War Draft Registration Records for Indiana, 6th congressional district, Vol. 5, page 156, dated Aug 1863. Line 6 is the entry for Henry L. Dawson, 21, of Centre Twp. Henry is a single farmer. He is listed as having former military service in the 24th Indiana Regiment.
4	Indiana Marriage Collection, 1800-1941 includes a record for Henry Lee Dawson marrying Mary F. Vanlaningham on 30 May 1867 in Hancock Co., IN.
5	1870 United States Federal Census for Center Twp., Hancock Co., IN, pages 33-34, dated 23 Jun 1870. Page 33 lines 39-40 and Page 34 lines 1-3: Rebecca B. Vammeter, 72, lives with her son Henry L. Dawson, 28, Henry's wife Mary Dawson, 20, a boy named Jesse G. Dawson, 9 (relationship uncertain), and a boy named Burk Harrison, 18. Rebecca was born in VT, everyone else in IN. Henry is a farmer and Burk works a farm.
6	Indiana Marriage Collection, 1800-1941 includes a record of Henry T. Dawson and Rhoda A McFadden marrying on 18 Oct 1882 in Henry Co., IN.
7	Portland, Indiana Directory, 1897 includes a record of Henry Dawson and Rhoda Dawson. Henry is a "tie contractor" at 209 E. Main St., Portland, IN.
8	1900 United States Federal Census for Portland, Jay Co., IN, enumeration district 75, sheet 6A, dated 5 Jun 1900. Lines 35-38: Henry L. Dawson, 58, born Feb 1842, lives with his wife Rhoda Dawson, 38, born Nov 1861, their daughter Cora L. Dawson, 16, born Jul 1883, and their son Fred A. Dawson, 8, born Jul 1891. Henry and Rhoda have been married for 17 years. Rhoda has given birth to two children, both of which are still alive. Henry was born in IN, his father in PA, and his mother in VT. Rhoda has given birth to two children, both of which are still alive. Henry was born in IN, his father in VT, and his mother in PA. Rhoda was born in IN, her father in PA, her mother in OH. Fred was born in OH. Henry is a merchant in Retail P??ltry. Fred is a clerk at the railroad. They live at 1271 Ri??gold.

11	Gravestone at Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, Marion Co., IN, section 69, lot 12 for Henry Lee Dawson. findagrave.com indicates that the birth year is unknown, the death year is 1923, and that burial occurred on 30 Jan 1923. No photo available.
12	Civil War Pension Index for Henry L. Dawson indicates that his widow is Rhoda Dawson. Henry serverd in C. 148, B. 54, and (illegible) 8. Indiana Infantry, E 54 Indiana Infantry. Rhoda applied for invalid status on 14 Apr 1884 and again for widow status on 2 Feb 1923.
