Lorena Bernice Mayer
Lorena Bernice Mayer grew up and lived her life in Brady Township, Butler Co. PA near the village of West Liberty. Her paternal grandfather Mathias Mayer was born in Germany but died in Butler County. In 1900 at age 78 he resided as a widower with his son James Benton Mayer's family. Lorena Bernice Mayer was nine years old in that year, so knew this old German grandfather well. She married Jim Wilson and they had their first child in 1909. They resided in the area of West Liberty. Lorena had a total of seven children, and died when the youngest was six years old. She was buried in West Liberty Cemetery. Several of her children lived on farms in the area of Slippery Rock.

Note that Elizabeth Ann Stoughton (who married Bert Winiford Wilson, brother of James Garfield Wilson) is also descended from John Stoughton and Catherine Covert. Elizabeth Ann Stoughton and Catherine A. Stoughton (above) were 2nd cousins.[5]
