D. Addison Snyder was apparently born on and inherited the family farm of his parents Harmon S. Snyder and Mary E. Knight. The farm was 100 acres. Harmon S. Snyder came from Clinton county in 1841, married Mary E. Knight who was born in Clarion county, and apparently inherited his father's farm. Their son D. A. Snyder was born on the same farm, where he lived out the remainder of his life. D.A. Snyder married Clara Laughner and had a family of children. Clara's parents were Barney Laughner and Catharine McCalmont.

- 1900 census taker listed Gertrude age 8 and Elmer age 6. The 1910 census show Lawrence age 18and Elva age 16; later census confirm the latter names.
- Daniel A. Snyder disappears from the census record on Clarion Co. between 1820 and 1830, and presumably died during this period.
