Edmond Brady "Bub" Williams was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. He worked for Pump and Lighting Company for most of his adult life, at first in Charlotte and then in Asheville, NC and Spartanburg, SC. He married Jetta King who he met at a skating rink, in 1941, shortly before the US entered World War II. He entered the army and served as a radioman in a forward deployed antiaircraft unit, going ashore in Normandy on about June 16, 1944 and ending the war near the Esser River in April, 1945. He loved to fish in the surf and went often with friends to the North Carolina Outer Banks. He and Jetta returned to Charlotte in 1962 and lived there until his death in 1986
