PA Deed  Book 5: 188''' Purchase of the Scneder land in Hempfield Twp., Westmoreland Co.  <br>Apr. 27, 1800 Alexander Story & Margaret of Hempfield Twp to Dorothy Snider of Lancaster Co., 99 acres & 118 perches adjacent widow Shaw, James Bovard & Samuel Shaw.  Part of a tract surveyed ay application 3 Apr. 1769 by Barnet Cunningham, who conveyed by deed 20 Sept. 1770 to Joseph Irwin, who by deed 2 Apr. 1776 (Deed Bk 1-A:121) conveyed 300 acres on Crabtree Run to William Shaw.  William Shaw by warrant 5 May 1786 & patent 13 May 1786, 315 acres and an adjacent tract of 184 acres surveyed by warrant on 28 Apr. 1786 to Shaw for a total of 500 acres in these two tracts.  William Shaw by Will dated 6 Aug. 1795 (Will Bk 1:129 of 1796) gave this land to his five sons: Joseph, John, Samuel, Andrew, & William.  Andrew Shaw & wife Sally received 1/5 of this land and by indenture 12 Apr. 1799 conveyed it to Alexander Story.  (This 99 acres, 118 perches from Story to Dorothy Snider on 27 Apr. 1800.) <br> The large tract of land (500 acres) of William Shaw is shown on Original Warrants & Surveys Map 149, Westmoreland Co.
