1	1790 United States Federal Census, Mecklenburg Co, NC pg 6 lists family of Valentine Hipp: 1 male >16, 2 males <16, 1 female and the family of Stephen Hipp:2 males >16, 1 male <16, 3 females. These are are the only Hipp household listed for NC by Ancestry.com The Stephen Hipp listed is likely Stephen Hipp Jr.
2	1800 United States Federal Census, Newberry District, SC (township not stated), page 26. Census is not dated. Family headed by Ann Hip: 1 male >45, 3 females <10, 2 females 10-15, 1 female 26-44, 1 female >44. Probably Ann Walkin Hipp living with a younger relative, probably Stephen Hipp Jr. and his family.>br> Also on the page are Andrew Hip and family, two George Hip families, Jacob Hip, John Hip and Joseph Hip. Thus all of the Hip sons except Valentine have moved to this area of South Carolina.
3	Valentine Hipp appears on the pension lists for NC in 1835 and in the summary of 1818-1872. The later lists his death date as 9 Nov 1837.
