Peter was the youngest son of Philip Wendel Klein. He married Margaret Stettler (13 Dec. 1741 - 26 Feb. 1815), daughter of Christopher Stettler & Margaret Unknown. Peter bought 260 acres of land from Philip Kleinert, in the southern part of Weisenbert Twp. A miller by trade, he erected a mill on the property about 1780, which he sold, with part of his farm, in 1803, to his son, Lorentz. Peter was a veteran of the Revolutionary War.
