 Oral Gretchen Latshaw was the oldest child of Lewis (Lou) Latshaw. Her siblings were Vera Latshaw who married Russ McGinnis (their daughter married Jim Davis); Leverne "Red" Latshaw, and Joanne Latshaw who married Bud Confer.

Originally built as the mother-in-law quarters, it later served as a start-out dwelling for several of the Elgie and Winnie Beals children. As soon as Loy established his garage business( before 1944)they lived out their days in their apartment over the garage in downtown Emlenton.
