William Richard Dittman&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
NEW BERN - William Richard Dittman, 68, loving husband, father, grandfather&lt;br /&gt;
and friend to all, died Dec. 30, 2009, at Pitt Memorial Hospital.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Dorothy Dittman;&lt;br /&gt;
brothers and sisters, Lawrence, Robert, Walter, David, Dorothy Belle and a&lt;br /&gt;
baby sister. He was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church and was&lt;br /&gt;
very much involved with the boy scouts at the church. Early in his life&lt;br /&gt;
baseball was his passion.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at Faith&lt;br /&gt;
United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church&lt;br /&gt;
following the memorial service.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
He is survived by his wife, Judith Hardy Dittman; sons, William R. Dittman&lt;br /&gt;
Jr. and wife, Shellie, of Oklahoma, Richard Wayne Dittman and wife, Melodie,&lt;br /&gt;
of Virginia, Kenneth T. Dittman and wife, Aubrey, of Virginia, John N. Staten&lt;br /&gt;
Jr. and wife, Tracy, of North Carolina and Jack R. Staten Sr. and wife,&lt;br /&gt;
Vicki, of North Carolina; &amp;lt;br&amp;gt;daughters, Brenda L. Sweet and husband, Fred, of&lt;br /&gt;
Oklahoma, April C. Green and husband, Scott, of Texas, Katherine R. Dittman&lt;br /&gt;
of North Carolina, Victoria L Ducharme and husband, David, of South Carolina&lt;br /&gt;
and Donna M. Adams and husband, Chris, of Virginia;&amp;lt;br&amp;gt; brothers, Donald Dittman&lt;br /&gt;
and wife, Mary, of Ohio, Harry Dittman and wife, Phyllis, of Indiana, Eugene&lt;br /&gt;
Dittman and wife, Shirley, of Ohio, Kenneth Dittman of Pennsylvania and John&lt;br /&gt;
Dittman of NewYork;&amp;lt;br&amp;gt; sisters-in-law, Betty Dittman of Maryland, Marguerite&lt;br /&gt;
Edwards of Texas, Cindy Dittman of Pennsylvania and Fayrene Dittman of&lt;br /&gt;
Colorado.; &amp;lt;br&amp;gt;sisters, Mary Jane Mullen and her husband, Daryl, of Pennsylvania&lt;br /&gt;
and Nancy McClintock and husband, Robert, of Pennsylvania;&amp;lt;br&amp;gt; 23 grandchildren,&lt;br /&gt;
Ryann Potter, Nikki Andrews, Jeremy Dittman, Megan Teague, Christopher&lt;br /&gt;
Teague, Dakota Sweet, Brian Collins, Jordan Dittman, Haley Dittman, Jacob&lt;br /&gt;
Dittman, Travis Green, Kayla Green, Lauren Green, John N. Staten III, Jack&lt;br /&gt;
Staten Jr., MacKenzie Staten, Spencer Ducharme, Ethan Ducharme, Alena&lt;br /&gt;
Ducharme, Lauren Huff, Hilary Huff, Brent Huff, and Aaron Adams; &amp;lt;br&amp;gt;eight&lt;br /&gt;
great-grandchildren, Madison Sweet, Alea Teague, Felicity Staten, Kaylee&lt;br /&gt;
