Swartzfager, age 57 of Emlenton RD 1 died at 9 pm Wednesday in Franklin Regional Medical Center.  Born 12 May 1930 in Oil City, son of Merrill D. and Doris Wofford Swartzfager.  Married 23 Jan 1948 to H. Jean Sherman, who survives.  Before retiring due to ill health he was employed by PennDOT for 13 years.  He previously worked at J&L Steel in Oil City.  He was a protestant.  He is survived by a son: Merrill E. Swartzfager; his mother: Mrs. Doris Swartzfager of Franklin; two sisters: Mrs. Roy (Fannie) Deutsch of Downsville and Mrs. Henry (Mona) Sherman of Oil City; four brothers: Rev. John D. Swartzfager of Tionesta; Joseph R. Swartzfager of Astabula, OH; Edward W. Swartzfager of Oil City RD; and William T. Swartzfager of Franklin; 19 nieces and nephews; and 13 grandnieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father.  Services in the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Knox, officiated by Rev. J.B.Walters of the Eigth Street Church of God, Oil City.  Interment at Perry Chapel Cemetery.
