It was announced today. Mrs. Walker, who was greatly loved for her neighborly kindness throughout a long life in this community, had been ill for many months and acutely ill since late last summer. She died at 11:45 o'clock last night. Sensing that her death was in the near future, in that calmness of spirit which characterized her approach of the end, she chose her own pallbearers as follow: C.D. Wilson, W.P. Glenn, R.H. Adams, C.P. Hayes, George Brown and N.J. Phillips. The funeral service will be conducted by her pastor, Rev. S.B. McLean, of Wilmore Presbyterian church, assisted by Rev. C.O. Williams, of Statesville Avenue A.R.P. church, and Rev. B. Frank Yandle, of Seversville Presbyterian church. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery. Mrs. Walker was the widow of Joe A. Walker, who died seventeen years ago. Surviving are two children, Mrs. Dean and Carl F. Walker, the latter of Winston-Salem; also, a brother, James R. Herron, of this county, and three sisters, Mrs. Jackson Rymer, Mrs. George Douglas and Mrs. Charles Crumley, of Charlotte. Eight grandchildren also survive. She was born December 30, 1869, in Steel Creek township, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John W. Herron.&lt;br&gt; * '''Note:''' The deceased is Lenora Scott Herron.</ins></div></td></tr>
