Binning in 1998, given to Tom Pearson, who then sent it to me. There is also an obituary for Uzziel in the 14 Oct 1916 edition of the Terre Haute Tribune available at the Vigo Co., IN, public library but it is not known at this time if the two obituaries are the same. The 25 Oct 1916 obituary, pictured at right, indicates that Uzziel was born in Greenfield, IN on 23 Dec 1837 and died at his home near Auburn [IN or IL? not stated] on 13 Oct 1916. At the age of 17 he moved with his father's family to Terre Haute, IN. He was a Union soldier during the Civil War, enlisting with the 11th IN Infantry at the outbreak of the war and again with the 16th IN Infantry until the close of the war, receiving an honorable discharge. After the war, he moved to New London, MO, and lived there for 9 years. He married [[Phebe Overman]] in Perry, MO, on 24 Mar 1867. Together, they had 8 children--2 boys, 6 girls.
