+John L. Wilson was the oldest of four children of Jim and Ella Wilson. He died of typhoid fever three months before his thirtieth birthday.  His only sister, Pearl, had died twelve years earlier of an infected bee sting. His two younger brothers, Jim and Bert, survived to adulthood. He was buried beside his sister at Muddy Creek cemetery.
